Evidence-based therapies that work
At ERC Baltimore, we can address complex co-occurring eating disorders and mental health concerns, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) using exposure and response prevention (ERP), and trauma using cognitive processing therapy (CPT). All ERC therapists are trained in a nationally validated, trauma-informed psychotherapy model on the most up-to-date and evidence-based therapies. Having our clinical team on-site provides seamless coordination of care. In treatment, you'll work with:
- Psychiatrists and internal medicine physicians
- Licensed therapists and family clinicians
- Registered dietitians
- Nursing support
Find long-lasting recovery in our 7-day PHP.
Our 7-day PHP provides the maximum clinical standard of care, offering you or your loved one the best chance at lasting recovery. Programming at eight hours per day is designed to prevent relapse, offering consistency and stability. Eating disorders don’t take weekends off – and neither do we. Research indicates that unstructured weekends without meal planning and accountability create unnecessary setbacks during treatment.
A path to healing as unique as you are
Our continuum of care model means that we provide patients with the specific level of support they need at the time they need it. Our residential program is located directly across the street at 55 Schilling, enabling patients to step up or step down from various levels of care. The clinical team can also move between buildings as patients step up or down from levels of care. Given that all our buildings are on the same campus-like environment, we offer a safer, more supportive atmosphere that promotes collaboration and closeness.
Outpatient eating disorder therapy in Baltimore
ERC Baltimore offers outpatient eating disorder treatment led by a team of expert therapists. Outpatient therapy typically includes one individual therapy session per week and is an ideal fit for patients seeking a lower level of care, including patients transitioning from PHP. Outpatient therapy serves as an important step in the full continuum of eating disorders care, providing accountability, processing and skill-building.

Nutrition Counseling & Education
Through education, support and structure, we offer patients a comprehensive and personalized nutrition approach and plan: providing nutritional rehabilitation that safely helps them achieve optimal physical and mental health. At ERC Baltimore, we have a full teaching kitchen where all patients participate in cooking classes and food exposures, and an on-campus garden. We additionally host multifamily-based group therapies in the kitchen that include:
- Therapists
- Registered dietitians
- Patients, families and caregivers
In order to help patients take skills learned in treatment and practice them in everyday life, we have weekly “innings” (bringing food into the facility) and “outings” (attending a nearby restaurant). For those interested in specific programming for binge eating disorder (BED), we also offer virtual groups for adults in the state of Maryland.
Traveling for care? We can help.
For out-of-town patients and their families, ERC Baltimore has an arrangement with the hotel Residence Inn located right across the street. This is a place where families can stay while loved ones are in treatment. Out-of-town PHP patients can also stay on the same campus. The area also includes various other hotels, and we have an arrangement with Ronald McDonald house for additional housing when needed.
