Biography

Dr. Melissa A. Clark is a Primary Care Physician working at our Hunt Valley, Maryland locations. She is a dedicated Family Medicine Physician with over 20 years of experience in outpatient care, including roles at Federally Qualified Health Centers and leadership positions during the pandemic. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Clark pursued her education at Wittenberg University and Wright State University School of Medicine, completing her residency at UIC-Illinois Masonic Family Medicine Residency, where she served as Chief Resident. She holds certifications from the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine, and recently became a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.

Dr. Clark’s journey into medicine was inspired by her family experiences and a desire to help others navigate the healthcare system. She brings a comprehensive, trauma-informed approach to patient care, integrating traditional and holistic healing modalities. Since joining ERC in August 2022, she has been instrumental in providing care to Maryland residential and PHP patients, collaborating with Dr. Lisa Tuchman to deliver exceptional, patient-centered treatment.

Active in the professional community, Dr. Clark is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Maryland Academy of Family Physicians, Somatic Experiencing International, and the International Institute for Complementary Therapists. She has participated in the American Academy of Family Physicians Leading Physician Well-being Scholars Cohort and the AAFP Physician Well-being Educators Pilot program, where she continues to advocate for physician wellness. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Clark enjoys spending time with family, Reiki, figure skating, reading, travel, knitting, various types of meditation, Heart Math, and being in nature.
