Frequently Asked Questions
-
Where do most of your patients come from?
While many patients are from San Antonio or outlying areas, it is not atypical for patients to sometimes travel from other states. Patients often travel from Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley, which often lack these types of resources and levels of care.
-
What does the treatment team look like in IOP?
While IOP is a much less intensive level of care, one of the main differentiators is that the treatment team does not offer psychiatry. However, these groups and individual sessions will still include a primary therapist, registered dietitian, and a network of alumni and community support.
-
Do you work with other providers or community organizations?
ERC San Antonio works very closely with outpatient providers and outpatient community organizations. The clinical team is consistently presenting and co-hosting events with other providers, including NAMI and IAEDP. The doors are always open for other providers that offer different and similar services to promote increased accessibility to care and comprehensive education.
-
What support do you offer once treatment ends?
Extensive aftercare planning conducted by an Aftercare Coordinator helps ensure you have a “plan of action” for continuity of care and maintaining recovery progress; pre-arranged appointments set with an outpatient team experienced in the treatment of eating disorders.
