Biography
Lynaé DePriest aka Thoughtress (they/them) is a Black/queer/non-binary actor, writer, comedian, host, storyteller, advocate and educator based in NYC. They are a Co-Host and Co-Producer for We Are Trans, Curator for Poetic Open Sessions, and a teaching artist and performer with Story PIrates. Their creative talents have been featured at Harlem Pride, FlameCon, The Wild Project, New York Theatre Workshop, Caveat, The Tank, UCB, Magnet Theatre, The PIT, Stonewall Inn, The Center, The Cell, The Crane, Bowery Poetry and Nuyorican Poets Cafe. You can also hear them chatting it up and performing on podcast episodes for Thank You for Coming Out, GeeksOut, Vox Celeste, Adventures in Black Cinema and the Story Pirates Podcast. When they aren't performing and creating, they volunteer as an advocate for rape crisis and intimate partner violence survivors, and share their expriences as a queer/trans artist and eating disorder survivor on various panel discussions.
