Biography

Clifford Costello, D.O. is an Adolescent Medicine and Pediatric Physician working at our Denver, Colorado location. With a passion for addressing the unique challenges faced by adolescents, he is dedicated to providing compassionate care to young patients and their families.

Originally from Rochester, NY, Dr. Costello began his career as a biomedical engineer for a biotech start-up in Cleveland, OH, before pursuing his medical education. He received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and earned his medical degree from NYIT – College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Costello completed a general pediatrics residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, followed by a fellowship in adolescent medicine at the University of Colorado in Denver. His motivation to specialize in adolescent medicine developed during his residency, where he recognized the significant impact of social media on adolescent mental health, particularly regarding eating disorders. This led him to join Eating Recovery Center after graduation.

Dr. Costello has extensive experience treating patients with eating disorders across various settings, from the ICU to outpatient care. He has lectured on eating disorders to medical students, residents, and staff in youth corrections. He is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine. Outside of work, Dr. Costello enjoys spending time with his wife, Casey, and their tri-pod terrier, Butter.
