Biography

Dr. Carrie E. Keffler is a psychiatrist at ERC Pathlight's Mood & Anxiety Center in Denver, where she provides specialized mental health care tailored to meet the unique needs of her patients. She completed her Psychiatry Residency at the University of Colorado, where she also earned her Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Keffler's academic journey began at the University of Denver, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. Her strong academic foundation and dedication to understanding complex mental health challenges have been recognized by honors such as the Gottesfeld Memorial Award for Academic Excellence.

Throughout her career, Dr. Keffler has actively contributed to psychiatric research, gaining valuable experience through several research fellowships. At the University of Colorado IMAGINE Clinic, she developed a project focused on mental health care for LGBTQ communities, aiming to provide a more inclusive and effective approach to treatment. Her work in neurobiology also includes studies on neural response patterns related to eating disorders, as well as a summer fellowship at the University of Colorado Cancer Center, where she researched cancer stem cell behavior in breast cancer. These experiences have strengthened her understanding of the biological underpinnings of psychiatric conditions and reinforced her commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Dr. Keffler’s dedication to the field extends to her active involvement in residency program committees, where she contributed to residency evaluations and candidate recruitment. She has also served as an educator, guiding medical students at the DAWN Clinic on care strategies for medically underserved populations. In addition to her professional commitments, Dr. Keffler is passionate about supporting patient empowerment and well-being through wellness programs, reflecting her holistic approach to mental health and patient care.
