Biography

Dr. Amy Dowell is a psychiatrist based in our Bellevue, Washington location, and she is board-certified in adult psychiatry. A Seattle native, she earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Washington before briefly working in the finance industry. She then pursued a career in medicine, completing her medical training at Saint Louis University and her psychiatric residency through the University of Washington’s Spokane Advanced Clinician Track. Dr. Dowell is currently a Courtesy Clinical Instructor with the University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Dr. Dowell specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and began her medical career treating college students at Gonzaga University. She also has a strong interest in perinatal psychiatry and women’s mental health. Dr. Dowell is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals.

In her free time, she enjoys gardening, sewing, visiting the beach, and spending quality time with her partner and their young son.
