Biography

Dr. Amy Cook is a Primary Care Physician working in our Denver, Colorado location, bringing over 15 years of experience in traditional outpatient family medicine. A Colorado native, born and raised in South Denver, she earned her undergraduate degree in biology from North Carolina State University before obtaining her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences. After completing her residency at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital, Dr. Cook began her career at Ponderosa Family Physicians in Aurora and later at Family Medicine of Lowry, where she discovered her passion for serving underserved populations. This passion led her back to Clinica Family Health Center, where she provided comprehensive care for over a decade before making the difficult decision to leave due to the organization's financial instability and her desire for more family time.

Residing in Lowry, Dr. Cook is thrilled to be working in her own neighborhood again and is drawn to ERC for its mission of offering comprehensive care to those facing significant challenges. Her extensive experience in community medicine aligns perfectly with ERC’s goals, and she looks forward to finding renewed job satisfaction in this new setting. With a commitment to serving low-income and marginalized populations, Dr. Cook believes she can make a meaningful impact in her community while continuing her professional journey.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Cook enjoys an active lifestyle that includes cycling on her Peloton, attending her children's sporting events, and exploring the great outdoors of Colorado through skiing, hiking, and camping. She is also an avid traveler who cherishes time spent with her family and friends. With her strong dedication to patient care and community service, Dr. Cook is excited to contribute her expertise to ERC and support the health and well-being of her neighbors.
