Denver, CO – Eating Recovery Center and Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center (ERC Pathlight) recently expanded to accept Medicaid coverage for adults, adolescents, and children in Denver, removing a barrier to mental health care for the 18% of Americans with Medicaid. Only 36% of people in the United States with mental health diagnoses receive treatment, and for those with eating disorders that number drops to 10%. This expansion provides patients in Colorado with additional options as ERC Pathlight will now accept two state Medicaid plans.

“Being able to accept Medicaid and expanding access to our care to more people who need it is something we’ve been working on for a long time,” said Anne Marie O’Melia, Chief Clinical and Quality Officer at ERC Pathlight. “The process takes time, which is why we’re starting with these two plans in Colorado. But we know firsthand how important it is for people who need higher levels of care to get support as early as possible for the best outcomes, and as leaders in the field we take our responsibility seriously to expand access to care. So, we’re working relentlessly to add more Medicaid plans, not only in Colorado but everywhere we provide treatment.”

Programs now covered by Colorado Access and Rocky Mountain Health Plans include:
Mood and anxiety treatment for adults, adolescents, and children at the partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and virtual intensive outpatient (VIOP) levels of care.

Eating disorder treatment for adults at the PHP, IOP, VIOP levels of care, and for children and adolescents in VIOP.

PHP and IOP eating disorder treatment for children and adolescents is expected to be included in the coverage in the near future.

The following regions in Colorado are covered:
Colorado Access Member counties: Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas, and Elbert
Rocky Mountain Health Plan Member counties: Archuleta, Delta, Dolores, Eagle, Garfield, Grand, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Jackson, La Plata, Larimer, Mesa, Moffat, Montezuma, Montrose, Ouray, Pitkin, Rio Blanco, Routt, San Juan, San Miguel, and Summit.

For people living outside of these areas covered by other Medicaid plan in Colorado, ERC Pathlight can arrange a single case agreement in most instances for PHP and IOP levels of care.

With more than 30 centers nationwide, along with Eating Recovery and Pathlight At Home virtual intensive outpatient programs, the organization has guided more than 25,000 patients and their families to recovery. ERC Pathlight excels at treating patients with complex eating disorders and mood and anxiety disorders across the continuum of care, including inpatient, residential, PHP and IOP (in-person and virtual). It is a leader in emerging treatments and patient outcomes, and ERC Pathlight’s dedicated team of researchers uses outcome-based clinical studies to continuously improve the quality of patient care.
